I went on two lovely short hikes this weekend. On saturday I climbed the mountain behind my house and took this picture from the top. On Sunday I followed a little road out of town and up another mountian. I was amazed how quickly the city street turned into a quiet country road. Within 15 minutes I was walking thorugh farmland and within an hour I was up in a pine forrest. I wish every city was like that. Quite a lovely weekend and a much needed respite from the cars and pavement.

Hiking

Did you get to the hot springs? Go to the hot springs! They are very odd. It's like a tool shed that contains a portal to hell. And yet it's quite invigorating.
